The Nuttery Chinese Lantern Squirrel Proof Peanut Feeder

The Nuttery Chinese Lantern Squirrel Proof Nut Feeder in Aubergine has been designed in the UK and uses an attractive guardian cage design made of heavy steel to deter adult grey squirrels and large birds.

The Chinese Lantern cage has strong steel bars enclosing a strong metal mesh feeder tube for peanuts or suet pellets.  

Made from durable metal, this Chinese Lantern feeder comes with a screw top making filling and cleaning easy, and it’s important to clean this feeder regularly to keep it safe for your garden birds to use. This bird feeder also features an integrated seed tray to catch any fallen seed and reduce waste.

Once filled with peanuts this feeder can be hung up from a tree branch, hook or feeding station using the feeders attached metal hook.  The feeder is easy to fill and clean.

 *A Note On Squirrel Protection

The Nuttery feeders can only protect against adult grey squirrels and large adult birds. Some birds may not fit through the bars but could manage to get their head into the feeder.  Adolescent young squirrels could squeeze into the feeder due to their flexiility. The young squirrels look very similar to adults.  This is a temporary seasonal issue.

You may also find that adolescent jackdaws, crows and pigeons may find their way in  The bars on these feeders cannot be made smaller to protect from adolescent or red squirrels as this would pose a risk to the birds.

A deterrant of chilli flakes mixed in with the nuts or seeds will deter the squirrels whilst being completely harmless to the birds.
