- Excellent quick service great products Does tend to put some birds of feeding and landing on perches until they get used to it
An award-winning design that works on the unarguable fact that squirrels are heavier than birds! This cleverly designed feeder is particularly large – weighing 1.5kg when unfilled and holding a generous 2.3kgs of food, meaning you’ll only need to fill it every so often. The weight of a squirrel or large bird on any of the perches closes the ports so it can’t get at the food. This feeder is superbly engineered and features an optional perching ring.
When you receive your Squirrel Buster Plus, the factory tension will be set to 100g (with the optional perching ring fitted) so anything weighing over this will force the shroud to close over the feeding ports, but you can simply adjust this to the maximum setting of 150g to allow more of your favourite garden birds to enjoy the contents. (The average weight of an adult Grey Squirrel is 400-600g).
When placing the Squirrel Buster Plus in your garden, be sure that it is hanging at least 0.5m (1.5ft) away from a pole, branch or tree as squirrels may still be able to reach across and empty the contents without putting its weight on the feeder.
The Squirrel Buster needs to be at positioned at least 18" away from anything as a squirrel could stretch or jump.

Expensive but worth every pennyJan 3 years agoExcellent worth every penny I was apprehensive about paying so much for a bird feeder but after the grey squirrel and it's relatives kept eating all the sunflower hearts I decided that it was probably worth while. I'm pleased I did buy it although I was surprised at just how big it is and how much seed it can hold. The squirrels have tried a variety of ways to get at the food but they have fallen off every time. I haven't seen a squirrel in the garden now for over 2 weeks and none of the food has been stolen by them or the bigger birds. I did wonder if the little birds would be put off by the size as sometimes they are very wary of new feeder but the coal tits and blue tits were there straight away and the gold finches green finches and even the bull finches have been coming every day. An added bonus is that the seed seems to stay dry in spite of all the rain and snow that we have experienced over the last few weeks.LOAD MORE REVIEWS
