Value Bird Peanuts
Our Classic Bird Peanuts represent great value making them the cheapest peanuts we offer in this range. They offer the same nutritional values as the Premium Peanuts but at a better price.
Whilst nutritionally equivalent to larger peanuts, these peanuts are smaller in shape and not as aesthetically pleasing but easier for birds to handle. They are a recent crop and of course, aflatoxin-tested.
When to feed
Our Value Peanuts are rich in fibre, fat and protein, making them a nutritious year-round food for a wide range of garden birds.
High Quality Peanuts
The appearance of these peanuts may vary slightly to the image shown, but rest assured that our bird peanuts are always tested according to BRC standard quality.
Our supplier performs stringent quality tests both at the country of origin and again before they enter the warehouse using an independent laboratory to ensure they are the top grade that is expected. This grade is close to human grade standards with an aflatoxin level of 2 parts per billion. Standard Wild Bird Grade for peanuts is 20 parts per billion. That said they are not suitable for human consumption.
The Peanuts are 80/90 size (number of Peanuts that fit in the average hand). We source our peanuts from all over the world to ensure that we bring you the best at the best prices. The climate condition at the growing location can have a large influence on the look of the peanuts but rest assured that they have been aflatoxin tested to ensure they are safe for birds.
A small number of peanuts may be blackened due to being overdried in the drying process - these are likely to be discarded by birds and will not harm them.
Do you offer other peanut products?
Yes, we also stock a range of premium bird peanuts, to give your wild birds a higher quality feeding experience.
Do you offer plastic free packaging on this product?
Unfortunately we have had to revert to shipping our peanut lines in plastic bags due to the high oil and fat content affecting the integrity of the paper bags.
How to store
Please follow the below storage instructions to keep your bird peanuts as fresh as possible, otherwise they could go mouldy.
- Bird peanuts should be stored in a dry, cool place in a plastic or metal air tight container, with a secure lid. Peanuts can go mouldy if not stored in this way.
- The perfect place to store your bird peanuts is a garage or a dark shed away from direct sunlight. Sheds can warm up during the Summer to please ensure the bird peanuts do not get too warm.
- You can see our storage container range here.
Which birds love Peanuts?
- Blackbird, Blue tit, Chaffinch, Collared dove, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Great spotted woodpecker, Great tit, Greenfinch, House sparrow, Long-tailed tit, Nuthatch, Robin, Starling, Wood pigeon
Which bird feeder should I use?
*Please note that our 15kg sacks of bird peanuts are delivered as three 5kg sacks, whereas the 25.1kg sacks of bird peanuts are delivered as two 12.55kg sacks, meaning you get more seed for your money. Plus they're much easier to handle, store and will remain fresher for longer.
*We would always recommend your food is stored in an air tight container in a cool and dry location to ensure that it remains fresh up until the best before date.
