The beautiful Lily Robin nesting box, is handcrafted in the UK with care by people with autism and learning disabilities using sustainably sourced timber. It has a striking, high-quality open front design to attracted Robins, with a beautiful green and natural oak color scheme.
To attract early-nesting robins, place the rustic Lily robin nesting box in a secluded garden spot in early January. Robins start building nests as early as January during mild weather, though the breeding season typically begins in March. Ideal nesting sites for robins include hollows, nooks, vines, shrubs, tree roots, brush piles, and other concealed areas at or near ground level.
For optimal use, mount the nest box 2-4 meters high on a tree or wall in a shaded location out of direct sunlight. Clean the nest box annually between September and January when unoccupied by simply removing the back panel and washing with boiling water. An open-fronted nest box hidden in dense vegetation can attract robins, birds that will nest in unconventional places such as sheds. Putting the box in place early and out of sight gives robins a head start to build their nest.
