You don't have to worry whether your squirrels will be able to access the food, most of us know that they will stop at nothing to pinch food intended for other wildlife, so a feeder specially designed for squirrels won't keep them struggling for long! 

Constructed from high-quality, naturally durable FSC managed timbers with a strong stainless-steel hinge to resist corrosion, this feeder is made to last and bring happiness to your squirrels for longer. 

Easy to clean and refill, simply lift the lid of from the hopper and pour in your choice of squirrel snacks, whether that be peanuts or our speciality squirrel food. We recommend regularly topping up and clearing the feeder of any mouldy feed to reduce the chances of bacteria building up, leading to diseases spreading across the local squirrel population. The best practice to avoid this and keep our squirrels healthy is to give the plastic screen and hopper a wipe with a damp cloth whilst you clear and top up.

Winter is a tough time for squirrels across the UK, much like other garden wildlife. Food is often scarce and reliable water can be hard to find when temperatures drop, freezing most water sources. This also leads to frozen ground, which means squirrels may not be able to get access to their previously buried food caches.

Siting: 

We recommend siting this feeder far from any bird feeders you may have, preferably on a tree, fence or any sturdy object at the height of roughly 1.5-2m. It's best to place this feeder in a convenient filling, cleaning and viewing position. 

Maintenece: 

Maintenece is not ususally required for this feeder, however you may wish to apply a light coat of oil to the hinge when necessary. If wood stains are used, they should be water-based to minimise toxicity.
