Premium Squirrel Proof Guardian Nut Feeder

This stunning bird peanut feeder is brand new to the Garden Bird range, this great value, robust feeder stands at 40cm tall and is finished in a beautiful dark green. 

The included tough metal guardian cage will deter squirrels and larger birds, allowing the small birds to feed in peace(*). The guardian cage includes a base tray, this ingenious tray can be used in two ways - invert the tray to catch dropped food or use it to quickly drain rain water away.  The tray has drainage holes for when it's being used as a catcher tray to prevent the seed becoming water logged (see images).

The strong metal mesh feeding tube is suitable for peanuts and can easily be filled from the top.

The feeder comes with a very strong hanging hook, perfect for hanging from a hook, tree or feeding station.

It's really important to keep your feeders clean and disease free. This feeder can be cleaned by removing the wing nut on the guardian base tray, the feeder will then twist off the feeder base.  We recommend using some mild detergent with water to clean your feeder, a feeding brush and bird safe disinfectant will make the cleaning process much easier and more thorough. * A note on squirrel protection. This feeder is squirrel and large bird proof, however adolescent squirrels and birds can gain access through the bars. Juvenile squirrels are far more agile than the adults and can squeeze into small spaces. Birds with long beaks will also be able to access the feeder inside the guardian. We recommend mixing in some chilli flakes with the food, this is perfectly safe for the birds but will help to deter Squirrels. The bars on the feeders cannot be made any smaller as this would be dangerous for the birds.
